After a 3-0 victory against Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham on Wednesday, Sept. 13, the men’s soccer team found themselves on the opposite side of a shutout when they lost 3-0 to the William Paterson University Pioneers at home on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The Pioneers scored twice in the first four minutes. When the Pioneers received a corner kick in the first minute, senior midfielder JP Gonzales crossed straight to the net. Junior defensive back Charlie Lizardo jumped on top of Lions defenders and headed in the Pioneers first goal. […]

The women’s soccer team began the regular season with a road win on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Collegeville, Pennsylvania. The team defeated Ursinus College, 4-0, and extended its current winning streak to three games.

While away from the College, the No. 12 ranked Lions had no trouble making themselves at home inside the Ursinus Bears’ end of the field. Through 90 minutes, the Lions had 23 shots, with 11 of them being on goal, compared to the Bears’ two total shots all game. […]

The men’s soccer team endured some setbacks this week. The Lions lost 2-1 to Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, Sept. 6, and Lynchburg College, 3-1, on Saturday, Sept. 9. Later on Sunday, Sept. 10, the team rebounded and beat Roanoke College, 2-1.

Lions give it their all in NCAA tournament

The women’s soccer team’s NCAA journey started and ended this past weekend as the Lions beat Marywood University, 7-0, during the tournament’s first round on Saturday, Nov. 12, before falling to Brandeis University, 1-1, in penalty shootouts during the Round of 32 on Sunday, Nov. 13.

The team seemed poised to strike back after a crushing defeat to Rowan University in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Final two weeks ago, and started out strong against a Pacers unit who had gone 11-5-2 during their season and won the Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament title. […]
