Engineers utilize their knowledge overseas

Classical Studies Club keeps it old school

Every Wednesday at 1 p.m., students at the College meet on the couches above the Rathskeller in the Brower Student Center for an opportunity to temporarily bridge the gap between the modern world and the ancient Mediterranean World of the classical era. The Classical Studies Club provides a forum for students to explore the humanities of ancient Mediterranean societies.

The topics of democratic security and cultures of citizenship attracted students to the final politics forum of the semester last Thursday presented by Stacey Hunt, professor of political science.

Applicants break records

This year, the College received approximately 9,700 applicants for the class of 2012, a 20 percent increase from the 8,000 students who applied in 2007.

In addition to multiple other awards and recognitions, the College is currently ranked one of the 75 “Most Competitive” schools in the nation by Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges.

Crikey! Aussie imports kick off concert series

Alternative rock band Mink joined WTSR for the birth of the College alternative rock station’s exciting new concert series. Held in the Kendall Hall television studio on Nov. 15, the free cross-promotional concert was open to all students at the College.

Electronica grows on ‘Trees!’

Last Friday at the Rathskeller, the College Union Board hosted a night of avant garde electronic musical acts. The night’s bill, featuring Dayroom and Trees!, two outside acts hailing from Annville, Pa., completed an eclectic week of music in the Rathskeller kicked off by The Blue Method on Tuesday.
