The courtyard outside of the Art and Interactive Multimedia Building was silent and the mood was somber on Tuesday, April 17 as a couple of girls mustered the courage to tell their personal experiences with sexual assault and “Take Back the Night.”

Student Government announced during its meeting on Wednesday, April 18, that members met with the N.J. State Senate to discuss funding for the College for the upcoming year.

Student Government listened as the Student Finance Board presented its proposed budget for next year during its off-campus meeting on Wednesday, April 11 at the Statehouse in Trenton.

SG listened to CUB’s request for members to help with staffing for this year’s Funival. SG was requested to cosponsor the Safe Rides Campaign.

SG granted permission for a new club to form. The Student Liberty Front is based on Libertarian ideals.

Social media users have a new platform for event planning, interaction and photo sharing that may give Facebook a run for its money.

Regional Director Mark Blosil presented Instructure Canvas to students and faculty on Monday, March 12, taking the audience through a virtual tour of the system, which resembles Facebook upon first glance.

SG listened as the strategic planning task force presented its plan.

During its brief meeting on Wednesday, March 14, Student Government announced several upcoming events throughout the remainder of the semester.

SG allowed the creation of the TCNJ Crossfit Club, a group aimed at providing exercise activities for interested students.

Gov. Chris Christie promised a 6 percent increase in aid for higher education in his recent budget address, but his statement was misleading and untrue, President R. Barbara Gitenstein said at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Without debate, Student Government recognized the German Club as a new group at the College and also reflected on Gov. Christie’s proposed budget increase on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Faculty members of the School of Nursing received statewide recognition by New Jersey Nursing Students, Inc. on Thursday, Feb. 16.

The new addition to the Student Government’s website, ‘Speak at TCNJ,’ will allow students to post any concerns or complaints after the housing lottery time slots are all announced.
