Apartment construction takes over transfer houses’ parking

As construction for the New Student Apartments nears completion, expansion of the building site has left off-campus students living in the 1898 to 1910 Pennington Road transfer houses without parking or a useable connecting sidewalk. “

The construction itself has been an inconvenience all year, but this is kind of ridiculous,” Emma Halsey, a senior nursing major who lives in the affected area, said.

Scam ‘phish’ e-mails target College accounts

In past weeks, many College e-mail accounts have been the targets of scam “phish” e-mails, where recipients were led to believe their accounts would be deleted if they did not follow the directions in the message.

The e-mails prompted users to provide log-in credentials, which would give the scammer access to the account, and appeared to have been sent from a College address.

More than 20 students gathered in the Brower Student Center tonight to discuss the alleged abuse Mike Tracey, vice president of the College Democrats, received from Campus and Ewing Police Wednesday when he was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Tracey recapped his side of the arrest, saying he was physically and verbally abused by officers.

Extra tickets were for concert workers

College students initially shut out of the Ludacris and Lupe Fiasco concert were given a second chance to see the hip hop artists perform at the Student Recreation Center Feb. 27 when 200 extra tickets for the event were released to students last Wednesday by the College Union Board (CUB).

The Rutgers University Senate passed the University Senate Charge S-0107 on Nov. 21, a financial provision concerning The Daily Targum, the daily student-produced newspaper of the university.

If Rutgers President Richard L. McCormick approves the charge, students or parents paying a term bill could choose to opt out of the $9.
