Ice Hockey suffered a heartbreaking 6-5 loss to the Rowan University Profs on Friday evening. After leading for a majority of the game, the Lions allowed the Profs to even the score, sending the game into overtime where a final Profs goal finalized the loss.
Club Softball went 3-0 against Stevens Institute of Technology this weekend with scores of 7-0, 18-1 and 11-1. Senior Kristina Thompson pitched 14 innings, earning two wins with 14 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. Senior Marybeth Dowson went 4-for-9 in the tripleheader with a triple, two doubles, four runs scored and four RBIs. Sophomore Sarah Dukeshire also picked up a win on the mound.
Women’s club lacrosse was victorious over Drexel University 11-6. Senior Kendahl Shortway and sophomore Caitlyn Camacho each scored three goals. Juniors Lauren Maull and Leyna Rasmussen each scored twice, and senior Nikki Swan finished off the Lions’ effort with one goal.
Club field hockey defeated Rowan University 3-2 in an intense game. Senior Michele Sarnelli scored two goals and junior Kayley Cassidy contributed one.
Men’s Rugby suffered another tough defeat against league-leading Saint Joseph’s University. While the Lions did not come away victorious, they showed vastly improved tackling and rucking. Despite several long runs and close calls, they were unable to put any points on the board. Next week is the team’s last league match against Drexel University.
