I understand that “they” are going to tear down the chapel – the only really distinctive building on campus. I think this is a crime. We erect building after building that looks like every other building and is blah, blah, blah. And now we are going to erect a blah chapel (if the drawing is to be believed).
I would like to propose that we put the current chapel – all of it – intact – on a slab and float it on Lake Sylva – anchor the slab, of course, and construct a walkway from the shore to the chapel. This would preserve the beautiful building (as unblah as buildings come) and would provide a nice place for meditation – and a place to get away from – yes, you guessed it – blahness.
